On this tour you will enjoy fabulous insights into the picturesque Weisstannental, dreamy Alps and wildly overgrown nature. Most of the route runs along natural paths.

On this tour you can enjoy legendary insights into the picturesque Weisstannental with the «Tectonic Arena Sardona» UNESCO site, sleepy Alps and wild nature. Most of the route covers unsurfaced roads.

The starting point for this bike tour is the Bad Ragaz spa, known for the Tamina spring. The tour begins comfortably through Sarganserland with a view of the dominating Gonzen. The climb starts from Wangs, leading to Alp Unter Precht on the left face of the Weisstannental. Here you can enjoy probably the best view of the Weisstannental; the Foostock holds throne in the distance, part of the «Tectonic Arena Sardona» UNESCO site.

Through fertile forests and luscious meadows you come to the tour's highest point, the Gamidaur Alp. The following descent is the climax of this route: Accompanied by impressive panoramas (of Churfirsten, Alvier, Sarganserland and Rheintal) the route passes through wild landscapes and woodland over unsurfaced roads, mountain roads, an attractive single-trail and then past the ruin of Freudenberg back to Bad Ragaz.

Note(s)
You can reach the single-trail towards Viltersberg by taking the road from Maienberg to Furt, turning at Garschlu (180 degrees) and driving straight on.

To reach the unsurfaced road towards Bad Ragaz from Viltersberg, turn right into tarred road and drive towards Targön (approx 15 min. ascent).
