The Edelweiss Trail has been in existence since July 2017 and offers beautiful views over the Rhine Valley and as far as Lake Constance, interesting facts about the Edelweiss alpine flowers and the opportunity to rest at the reservoir in so-called alpine pubs.

The trail leads from the mountain station Pardiel along the reservoir Suntigweid and on to the mountain station Schwamm. We pass eight life-size Edelweiss steles where questions about the alpine flowers are asked in a guessing game. The Speichersee is a particularly good place to linger: there are several rustic alpine baskets and barbecue areas with breathtaking views;

Author’s recommendation

At the Wissi Stei viewpoint at the Schwamm mountain station, another highlight awaits us, a large picture frame in front of which great photos can be taken;
