The tour climbs over the Vilterserberg to the idyllic Chapfensee. After a long descent, we return to Bad Ragaz via the castle, enthroned above Sargans.

The challenging tour leaves the small town of Bad Ragaz and climbs past the Freudenberg castle ruins with views of the Rhine and Seez valleys to the Vilterserberg. After a short descent, the tour climbs the road from Mels to the idyllic Chapfensee. The bike must be parked at the kiosk, as there is a general ban on riding for the last 300m to the lake. The dammed mountain lake and its surroundings are under nature protection and a popular destination for nature lovers. A rapid descent leads back to the valley floor and varied paths continue to Sargans Castle. The castle embodies two hundred years of county rule and more than three centuries of varied vögtische reign. It houses one of the most important local history museums in Europe and is a witness to the history of Sargans. After a short descent to the entrance of the Gonzen iron ore mine, where the Romans already mined iron ore, the tour crosses the Sarganser Au. The route follows the Rhine dam to the Giessenpark Bad Ragaz and back to the starting point at the Tamina Therme Bad Ragaz.
