Viewing platform high above the Rhine Valley
The Pizalun viewing platform on the St. Margrethenberg plateau offers a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains of St. Gallen and Graubünden. Thanks to the panorama panels you can easily name the many mountains around. At your feet are the Bündner Herrschaft and the Sarganserland. And the view along the Rhine leads to Lake Constance when visibility is good.
The viewing platform can be reached from the valley station of the Tristeli ski lift in just under an hour. A slightly ascending hiking trail leads through forests and flowery meadows to the summit of Pizalun. A steep but well-developed staircase leads up to the observation deck Pizalun. From Pizalun down towards Fürggli, a leisurely hiking trail leads past the Jägeri mountain inn. On the plateau we return to the starting point on the rarely used road.
