The family crest on the main portal refers to the builder and owner, the von Salis family. The house is oriented towards the ascending road, outside the former town wall, pointing to where the Lindau Gate used to be. The attached tower characterises the building, which influences the inner appearance of the village considerably today. Valuable historical substance is preserved inside.
